Marriage
The notary is authorized for the complete processing of the marriage file and the celebration of the marriage. To do this, the future spouses must request, through a written request, an appointment from the corresponding Illustrious Notary Association, in our case, that of the Canary Islands, to assign the notary before whom they want to carry out the marriage ceremony.
Marriage settlements
"There are two types of marital agreements: prenuptial, which are made before the marriage, and postnuptial, which are signed after the marriage.
Documentation: ID card (DNI), Foreigner Identification Number (NIE), or passport. When the agreements are made after the marriage, the Family Book or details of its registration in the Civil Registry (Marriage Certificate) are required."
Divorce
When both parties are in agreement and there are no minor children involved, they can go to the Notary with a shared or separate lawyer. They will bring the regulatory agreement and the marriage certificate or Family Book. After signing the deed, the Notary will submit a copy to the relevant Civil Registry.
Documentation: ID card (DNI), Foreigner Identification Number (NIE), or passport, Regulatory Agreement, Family Book, or Marriage Certificate."
Co-habiting couple
A minimum period of residency will be required, and each case will be evaluated on an individual basis.
